The Wehlers Circularity System
At Wehlers, as a certified B-Corp, we define true sustainability by taking full responsibility for our products throughout their entire lifecycle. While the traditional furniture industry relies on a linear "take-make-waste" model, we have engineered our business on a circular model. Our unique Circularity and Take-Back System ensures that every R.U.M. chair remains a valuable, high-performance asset—securing both your ESG compliance and your long-term sustainability goals.

Redefining End-of-Life with our Take-Back System
Conventional contract furniture often reaches a dead-end, leading to resource depletion and unnecessary waste. We have fundamentally redesigned this process for architectural projects and workspaces. Inspired by the principles of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, our solution is engineered for regenerative and waste-free performance. We do not just manage products; we manage the lifecycle of your furniture assets through our dedicated take-back scheme, ensuring they never become a liability.
How Our Circularity Lifecycle Works

Every piece of furniture we deliver is an integrated part of our circular ecosystem. Here is how we ensure continuous value:
Deployment: You acquire high-quality, durable design furniture engineered from advanced recycled materials. Our flagship R.U.M. chair series is available in specific sustainable formulations, including fisherman's green (ocean plastic), keyboard black (E-waste), and pharma blue (medical plastics).
Asset Recovery & Take-Back: When your project requirements change, architects and B2B clients simply contact our circular operations team. We coordinate a seamless, free product recovery, removing the contract furniture from your site to guarantee it stays out of ecosystems.
Lifecycle Assessment: Upon arrival at our facility, each asset is assessed for its next phase in the loop:
Re-certification: Pieces in excellent condition are cleaned, inspected, and re-certified for new projects, extending their original functional life.
Regeneration: If an asset requires attention, we repair and refurbish it to factory standards (Repair - ReUse - ReCycle - Remember).
Material Recovery: Assets reaching the end of their functional cycle are dismantled. Thanks to our Design for Disassembly principle, we separate components with surgical precision, reintegrating raw materials into the production of the next generation of circular Wehlers furniture.
Beyond a Guarantee: A Commitment to Zero Waste
Our furniture Take-Back System is more than a policy; it is our operational core. It allows us to close the loop, ensuring that valuable resources are kept in continuous circulation rather than ending in landfills. This stands in direct contrast to the "fast furniture" model.
Join the Loop: As a partner in our circular economy, your participation in our recovery and take-back program ensures your inventory remains ESG-compliant. Participants receive a 20% credit toward their next Wehlers investment.
By choosing Wehlers, you are not just acquiring architectural design furniture; you are investing in a future where furniture is a renewable asset.
